Monument to Revolutionary Heroes in 2004
This photograph of Sofia is courtesy of the Bulgarian magazine
Capital Weekly.
It featured in an article about the journey which took me through Sofia in 1968.
See comments on the other photograph of the park. Once again the vitality of youth contrasts with the decay of the old.
The elegant formality of the 1960s has gone, and the once-proud Monument to Revolutionary Heroes now has grass growing between the stonework and the plinth is covered with adverts and graffiti.
However I do like the pavement art!
