Road Tunnel, Balkan Mountains
The road to Belgrade (Beograd) wound its way through the Balkan Mountains in western Serbia.
At the time the whole area was known as Yugoslavia, but today is divided into several states
of which we crossed Serbia and Croata. At the time one benefit for travellers was there
was only one currency and border crossing to worry about.
There were frequent road tunnels through the Balkan Mountains,
but the roads were good and fast and we made very good time.
