Courtyard of Mosque between Istanbul and Sofia

It was noticeable that the mosque had the decorated masonry surfaces that used to be present in medieval English churches and cathedrals but became lost during the rise of Protestantism.

(I am not certain if this mosque was in Turkey or Bulgaria. As both counties have large Moslem communities,it could have been either.)
