Bazargan
The Iran-Turkey border is at Bazargan, very remote with a stiff climb up to the border post.
This over-laden vehicle heading for the border crossing was an ex-U.S. Army truck dating from World War II.
At the time the Iran-Turkey border crossing at Bazargan was infamous for its delays.
There were always lines of parked lorries and cars with their occupants waiting to present their papers,
and it was not unknown for vehicles to be delayed at Bazargan for over 24 hours.
Fortunately our border crossing wasn't too bad, only taking an hour or so.
