Buttes between Ahvaz and Kermanshah

Buttes between Ahvaz and Kermanshah We had now left the Khuzestan desert north of Ahwaz and the Iranian landscape had changed. The road to Kermanshah was now a wasteland of loose rock and towering buttes. The buttes were ringed with scree slopes which had been produced by eons of disintegration and weathering.
