Walk up to the Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele We had left the car at the Pont carpark at the head of the Valsavarenche valley, and had started the walk up to the Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele where we were to spend the night.

The peaks on the right are at the head of Valsavarenche.
