Xian children

Children in China at that time were dressed in a way lost to the West. Western children tended to wear clothes that imitated those of adults, boys with jeans and bomber-jackets, and girls with outfits akin to the movie stars they hope one day to become. But in 1980s China, children were dressed as children, with embroidered blouses and hair ribbons.
